Architect the workflow, not the feature

Most enterprise AI fails because it ships features into workflows that weren't designed to receive them. Here's how we sequence the work instead.

The feature trap

When a leadership team asks for 'an AI feature,' they're usually asking for a symptom. The underlying request is almost always: make this process faster, more accurate, or more boring.

Shipping a feature into an unredesigned workflow is the cheapest possible way to look modern while changing nothing.

Sequence the redesign

We start every engagement by mapping the workflow at the granularity of a single handoff. Each handoff is either preserved, automated, or eliminated.

Only then do we choose models. Tooling is the last decision, not the first.

What this looks like in practice

On the Verge Mutual claims engagement, the deliverable wasn't a model. It was a workflow with 22 fewer steps and an agent quietly handling the rungs that remained.
